Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who featured in beloved programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
