Loyal fans of the pop star are demanding that a person who jumped a fence and seized the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade flanked by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers revealed that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last year.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety

Many supporters criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more comment on Instagram.

A number of fans also questioned event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while others requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.
