The President Calls Relatives of Injured Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump informed the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Public Response

Mourners gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the media. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to suspend asylum processing and cease issuing entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to meet with the family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
