Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
